New Opportunity for Fiber Arts Omaha 2024!
Vendor Mart Food Vendor Application Announcement
We are excited to announce that this year, the Fiber Arts Omaha Vendor Mart is opening its doors to food vendors who wish to sell items without needing a permit under Nebraska's Cottage Food Law. This law allows the sale of non-potentially hazardous foods, which do not require temperature control for safety.
If you are a food artisan interested in participating as a vendor, we invite you to apply! This is a fantastic opportunity to showcase your homemade treats and connect with the community at one of Omaha’s premier arts festivals.
Eligible Food Items:
Baked Goods: Bagels, biscuits, breads, brownies, cakes (without dairy-based fillings), cookies, donuts, muffins, pastries (without cream or custard fillings), pies (without dairy-based fillings), rolls, scones, sweet breads, tortillas.
Snacks: Caramel corn, chocolate-covered goods (nuts, pretzels), crackers, fruit leathers, granola, kettle corn, nuts and seeds, popcorn, popcorn balls.
Candies: Baked candy, brittles, toffees, caramels, hard candies, chocolate, cotton candy, fudge.
Condiments: Honey, syrups.
Dry Goods: Cereals, dry-roasted coffee beans, dried herbs, dry baking or soup mixes, dry pasta, spices, seasonings, dried tea leaves.
Important Guidelines:
Labeling: Each product must be labeled with the statement: “This food was prepared in a kitchen not subject to regulation or inspection by the regulatory authority and may contain allergens.” Additionally, the label must include your name and address.
Notification: Customers must be visibly notified that your products were prepared in a non-regulated kitchen.
Compliance: Ensure compliance with all local food safety guidelines and requirements for selling at public events.
How to Apply:
