Natural Dyeing: INDIGO MUD
This indigo mud dyeing workshops is influenced by Asian and African cultures and their usage of indigo and mud in dyeing processes.
About the indigo vats:
Made of natural ingredients, including fruit or vegetable sugars.
About the mineral mud:
In Nebraska, I was faced with the challenge of finding natural sources to treat the cloth, as well developing a way of fermenting the mud using natural sources and Nebraska soil. I found a way and have been making and fermenting mud for more than three years after first learning this beautiful art from Aboubakar Fofana, a multidisciplinary Malian-born artist.
During this workshop we’re playing in indigo-infused mud, using a resist technique on tannin fabric to create a beautiful and unique piece of textile/cloth.
All supplies included, including a yard of cotton.
Dates and times to be announced shortly.
This is a one-day workshop
