Unveil the intricate beauty of Orizomegami, a traditional Japanese art form that combines folding and dyeing techniques to create mesmerizing patterns on paper, using pigments and dye.

In this workshop, one of the papers we're using is masa paper, renowned for its absorbent and durable qualities, making it the perfect canvas for Orizomegami projects.

Cost: $50.00

Workshop 2:  Momigami: The Art of Textured Japanese Paper

Immerse yourself in the rich history and exquisite craftsmanship of Momigami, a traditional Japanese technique that magically transforms paper into a textured, fabric-like material.

During this workshop, I’ll teach you how to create a paste-based Momigami-NOT OIL-from folding and crumpling to kneading and shaping, as you explore its fascinating history, techniques and artistic applications using a special paste.  Perfect for artists, crafters and anyone with a passion for Japanese culture and textile arts, this workshop offers a unique opportunity to delve into the world of Momigami and unleash your creativity.

Participants will make a large piece of both white and brown momigami. Participants will also have an opportunity to decorate and sew on already prepared momigami paper.
