About CCAO
The Center for Creative Arts Omaha is an independent arts space created to support artistic practice, creative exploration and meaningful public engagement with art.
Located at the Center Mall in Omaha, the Center provides a setting for exhibitions, artist-led workshops, demonstrations, collaborative projects and other creative programming.
The Center is especially interested in the process behind art — how artists experiment with materials, develop techniques, solve problems and transform ideas into finished work.
Programming may include traditional, mixed-media, textile, surface-design, natural-material and experimental practices as well as interdisciplinary work that does not fit neatly into a single category.
The goal is not to define creativity narrowly. It is to create space for artists to present serious work, share knowledge appropriately and connect with people who are interested in experiencing art beyond the finished object.

By creating opportunities to encounter both finished work and the processes behind it, the Center encourages a deeper appreciation of artistic practice and the people who create it.

The Center for Creative Arts Omaha is rooted in Omaha while remaining open to artists, ideas and collaborations from throughout Nebraska and beyond.
We believe meaningful arts programming can happen in accessible community spaces and that strong creative work does not require distance from the people who live around it.
