Learn by Making
The Center for Creative Arts Omaha offers workshops, demonstrations and creative experiences designed for all backgrounds and experience levels.
Whether you are exploring a medium for the first time or continuing an established studio practice, our programs encourage curiosity, experimentation and thoughtful craftsmanship.
Participants are invited to explore not only techniques, but also the creative decisions that shape artistic work.
Workshop Philosophy
We believe learning happens best through observation, experimentation and hands-on experience.
Rather than focusing solely on reproducing a finished project, our workshops encourage participants to understand materials, ask questions and develop confidence in their own creative process.
Everyone works differently.. The Center celebrates those differences.
Natural Color
Explore pigments, dyes and color derived from natural materials while learning how artists have used the natural world as a source of color for centuries.
Surface & Texture
Investigate techniques that transform paper, fabric and other surfaces through layering, printing, stitching, resist methods and mixed-media applications.
Process Studio
An open-format creative session designed for experimentation, discussion and artistic exploration.
Participants are encouraged to investigate ideas rather than complete predetermined projects.
Mixed-Media Explorations
Combine unexpected materials while learning principles of composition, texture, balance and visual storytelling.
Community Creative Projects
Collaborative projects that invite participants to contribute to larger works celebrating community, creativity and shared artistic experiences.
