Fiber Arts Omaha’s annual Fiber Arts Festival Omaha is a colorful showcase of creativity and talent dedicated to fiber arts, which includes textile arts and natural dyeing.

One of the highlights of this year’s festival is the exploration of natural dyeing techniques and the use of paper in fiber arts. Natural dyeing involves using plant-based materials, such as roots, bark, leaves, and flowers, to impart color onto fibers. Natural dyeing is an environmentally friendly method of dyeing uniquely, is experimental and so much fun!

In prior festivals, Fiber Arts Festival Omaha, offered insight into the fascinating world of fiber processing. From raw fleece to beautifully prepared fibers, fiber arts artisans shared their passions for transforming wool, alpaca, silk, Angora, cotton and other natural fibers into something else by learning the meticulous process of washing, carding and spinning fibers, dyeing it and then turning it into yarn.

Fiber Arts Festival Omaha is a delightful retreat for seasoned fiber enthusiasts and a gateway for newcomers wanting to discover something new.
